8th July , 2007. This day will go down in history as the day when Roger Federer equalled Bjorn Borg's record of five consecutive Wimbledon victories , record which has stayed for 27 years.
ROGER FEDERER. The name itself spells fear in many. He has won 11 grand slams, featured in 9 back-to-back grand slam finals (a record in itself). No one, not even Federer himself would have dreamt of this day to become a reality when he began his career in 1998. Though he turned pro in 98, the world saw him only in 2001 when he reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon. Since then Fed Ex has never looked back. Winning back to back grand slams in an era when the traditional serve-and-volley players are a history.
